Why cars-data.com
Most car-data APIs are US-centric, English-only and stop at make/model/year. Ours is built for Europe: generation- and facelift-level granularity, new-car list prices by model year, first-class EV specifications, and a CDN of about 80,000 images in three sizes.
And it speaks 20 languages — spec labels, terminology and names are localized so you can ship the same product across markets without building your own translation layer.
Endpoints

Frequently asked questions
I just want to call the API or connect an AI agent — can I do that now?
Yes. The live self-serve API, MCP server and Apify Actor are on the companion page, cars-data.com/en/api/for-ai-agents, with an instant free key. This page covers the separate data-licensing track — exports of exactly the data you need, with optional updates.
Can I publish the data on my own website?
Yes, with the public-display licence: the data can be shown on your own site or app with visible attribution to cars-data.com. It costs twice the internal-use price. Reselling or redistributing the raw data, as files or through your own API, is not licensed.
What format does the API use?
A versioned REST API (/v1) returning JSON, authenticated with an X-Api-Key header. Responses are cacheable and consistent, with cursor pagination and an OpenAPI specification.
Which languages are supported?
Spec labels, terminology and brand/model names are available in 20 languages via a locale parameter. Numeric values are language-independent; free-text value localization is on the roadmap.
How fresh is the data?
The catalogue is refreshed in batches, at least quarterly — it is not a real-time feed. Every variant carries a last-synced timestamp, and subscribers receive a full snapshot plus a change file after each refresh.
Can I buy the data as a one-time export?
Yes. Choose modules from €190 each (the catalog is always included), or take Full Specs at €2,900 or Full + Media at €3,900. Files are CSV and JSON with a field dictionary and a per-field coverage sheet. Orders are fulfilled manually and paid by invoice or bank transfer — there is no online checkout.
How do updates work?
An optional subscription: 4% of your export price per month, from €49/month, billed annually or quarterly in advance. Each refresh brings a full snapshot plus a change file of added, changed and removed records keyed on stable IDs.
Where does the data come from?
Specifications are aggregated, normalised and structured by cars-data.com across many sources, then enriched with translations, list prices and a consistent schema. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.
